TOP 3 Questions FAIRPASS Was Asked Most Often at TTA 2025
FAIRPASS attended Travel Tech Asia 2025 in Singapore. Here are the top 3 questions asked on-site about eco-friendly paper badges and instant-print kiosks.
FAIRPASS at Travel Tech Asia (TTA) 2025, held in Singapore

FAIRPASS participated in the exhibition as one of the companies in the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) pavilion, directly showcasing the kiosk and paper badges to professionals in the global tourism and MICE industry.
While continuously demonstrating how attendee information is checked at the venue and badges are printed on the spot at the kiosk, there were questions we kept receiving.
Looking back, we found this quite interesting.
It was the most direct way to see what people outside Korea are most curious about when they see FAIRPASS, and which aspects of our product feel unfamiliar in overseas markets.
So we put it together.
TOP 3 Questions FAIRPASS Was Asked Most Often at TTA 2025.
TOP 1. “Is this really all paper?”
This was the most frequently asked question.
When we handed over a paper badge, many people would look at both sides, touch the lanyard part and the loop, and then ask again.
“Not just the badge — is this also paper?”
Yes, the FAIRPASS badge is designed to reduce plastic use by utilizing biodegradable paper material not only for the badge paper itself, but also for the connecting loop and the lanyard.
If you think about badges commonly used at event venues, it’s not usually just a single sheet of paper.
- Plastic case
- Synthetic lanyard
- Connecting loop made of plastic or metal
When the event is over, most of these are thrown away all at once.
This is also where FAIRPASS started when it began making the entire badge out of paper.
Every day, in every city, in every country
badges are used for just a few hours at events where hundreds or thousands of people gather, then thrown away.
“Couldn’t we start by changing this small thing?”
This is the starting point from which FAIRPASS approaches the paper badge.
In fact, at TTA 2025, planners and overseas professionals who are very interested in sustainable event management showed a lot of interest in this aspect.
In particular, I remember a PCO from Africa who responded with great enthusiasm and shared feedback with us.
Our service resonated with them, and we are still keeping in touch on LinkedIn,
which we are very glad about.
TOP 2. “If it’s paper, won’t it tear or the print bleed?”
The second question was very practical.
“Paper? Then what happens if it gets wet?”
This is the first concern that comes to mind when you say paper.
At event venues, drinks can be spilled, it can rain, and attendees have to walk around with the badge hanging around their neck for several hours or even days.
So we chose a faster method rather than just explaining.
We poured water directly onto the badge.
Of course, FAIRPASS’s paper badge is not a “fully waterproof” product.
However, even when water is poured onto it immediately after printing, the print does not bleed, and it has water resistance against light splashes and humidity that may occur in a typical event environment.
It is also designed so that it does not easily tear or cause the print to bleed during normal event use.
Since it is paper, it should be eco-friendly —
but we believe that just because it is paper, it should not be an inconvenient product at the event venue.
Sustainability and usability.
We sought to make a product that can be realistically used while balancing those two.
The demonstration of pouring water onto the badge and showing that the print did not bleed received a much more positive response than we expected.
TOP 3. “So how much is this kiosk?”
And this was the third most frequently heard question.
“How much is this kiosk?”
It’s a little amusing, but I consider this question quite important.
After listening to the product explanation,
actually registering on-site in real time,
watching a badge actually print out from the kiosk right away,
and even touching the badge themselves —
I think asking about the price is ultimately a question that goes one step further.
“Could we use this at our event too?”
At event venues, hundreds or thousands of badges are printed in advance, sorted alphabetically, and then the process of finding and handing them to attendees when they arrive is repeated over and over.
FAIRPASS aims to change this process by checking registration data when attendees arrive on-site and printing the needed badge immediately.
Because the number of kiosks needed and the method of application can vary depending on the event scale and operational style, FAIRPASS proposes a method suited to the event’s operational environment together with clients, rather than simply focusing on the price of a single machine.
And having received this question multiple times, we were also able to reconfirm something ourselves.
What event organizers overseas want is not simply new equipment,
it is a realistic way to reduce staffing needs, time, and repetitive tasks.
Bonus. What We Regretted Most at TTA 2025
On the other hand, there was also one thing we regretted.
That we were not able to show the full FAIRPASS solution sufficiently.
At TTA 2025, we focused on directly showing the instant badge printing from the kiosk and the eco-friendly paper badges.
Thanks to that, we were able to receive a great many questions about the hardware and paper badges.
However, what FAIRPASS does does not end with printing badges.
- pre-event attendee registration
- Attendee data management
- On-site check-in and badge printing
- And real-time event operation data and statistics, and more
Connecting online and on-site as one seamless flow is the direction FAIRPASS is building toward.
Personally, not being able to sufficiently demonstrate this entire process on-site at the time was what I regretted most.
But this year seems like it will be a little different.
FAIRPASS is currently preparing a new version of the platform.
And at TTA 2026, we plan to properly show how the renewed FAIRPASS connects everything from registration to on-site operations.
If the question we heard most at last year’s TTA was
“Is this really paper?” — this year, we want to hear this question:
“How can we use this at our event?”
We will see you again at Travel Tech Asia 2026 in Singapore this October.
