Korean TravelTech Startups Eye Southeast Asia Expansion Through Singapore
Eight Korean tourism technology companies showcased their products and services to Singapore-based buyers, investors, and industry partners on June 11, 2026 — as part of a structured market-entry initiative designed to accelerate their expansion across Southeast Asia.
The event, officially titled the 2026 Singapore Korea Tourism Startup Center (KTSC) Showcase Day, was organized by the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO). It was designed to give Korean traveltech companies a live platform to validate their solutions in the Singapore market and build global sales channels from one of Asia’s most strategically connected cities.
8 Korean Startups. One Strategic Market.
The following eight companies participated in this year’s showcase:
| Company | Core Solution |
|---|---|
| Globalier | AI-powered travel itinerary optimization |
| Divein Group | Smart hotel integrated solutions |
| Dowhat | Eco-friendly MICE solutions |
| Red Slippers | Event registration and ticketing management |
| Manmanhannnyeoseokdeul | Modular furniture for event and hospitality spaces |
| Blue Origin | Event registration kiosks and venue automation |
| Alicon | AI-driven autonomous space operations (IoT) |
| Prinker Korea | Customizable makeup printing kiosks |
Solutions on display spanned the tourism, hospitality, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) sectors — all areas experiencing rapid technology adoption across Southeast Asia.
A live exhibition zone featured Blue Origin’s self-service registration kiosks and modular furniture systems from Manmanhannyeoseokdeul, allowing Singapore-based hotels, resorts, and MICE venues to evaluate real-world applicability on the spot.
Why Singapore? A Gateway to Southeast Asia’s MICE Market
For Korean traveltech firms, Singapore is not simply a target market — it is a regional launchpad.
“Singapore is a city-state where tourism, finance, MICE, hotels and resorts, and global corporate networks are uniquely concentrated. It is one of the best markets in the world to validate the localization potential of a service.”
— Min Byeong-seon, Head of Tourism Industry Division, Korea Tourism Organization
With its world-class event infrastructure, multilingual business environment, and proximity to major Southeast Asian economies, Singapore provides an ideal testing ground before wider regional rollout.
From Showcase to Signed Contracts: A Track Record of Results
The Singapore KTSC — established in August 2022 — has built a consistent pipeline of market-entry outcomes for Korean tourism startups. Services provided to member companies include:
- Co-working office space in Singapore
- Legal and tax advisory
- Local market validation support
- IR (investor relations) materials development
- Business partner and investor matching
- Overseas pilot program facilitation
This year, the program has strengthened its demand-matching model, connecting Korean startups directly with real briefs submitted by Singapore-based tourism companies, hotels, and MICE operators.
Notably, the KTSC is co-running its overseas pilot program with StartupX, the official accelerator of the Singapore Tourism Board (STB). Through this collaboration, 13 new demand partners have been onboarded — including global names such as Mastercard and Scape.
Proven Success Stories
- Alicon participated in last year’s Showcase Day, completed an IoT pilot deployment within a mixed-use MICE venue in Singapore, and subsequently signed additional contracts with a local partner.
- Media&Art received KTO-facilitated business matching support with the Singapore Tourism Board, and opened its Groundseesaw exhibition space in Singapore in October 2024.
- Haenyeo’s Kitchen — a dining experience concept rooted in Jeju Island’s female diver culture — opened in Singapore and attracted approximately 3,000 visitors within its first five months.
What This Means for MICE and Event Technology Buyers in Singapore and SEA
For corporate event managers, PCOs, and venue operators across Singapore and Southeast Asia, this showcase signals a growing wave of Korean event technology entering the regional market — from smart registration kiosks to sustainable MICE infrastructure and AI-powered operational tools.
Companies looking to pilot emerging event tech, explore new supplier partnerships, or stay ahead of innovation trends in the MICE space would do well to monitor the Korean traveltech ecosystem being channeled through Singapore’s KTSC program.
